The EVA accreditation scheme was developed in 2019 by the NFDA to encourage retailers to enhance their expertise in the electric vehicle sector and support consumer confidence as the market moves towards EVs

There are now more than 300 EVA accredited sites spread across the UK and whilst there are many more dealers in the pipeline to be approved, there are still spaces available.

To celebrate the '300 mark', a #LovEVA campaign was launched on social media, coinciding with Valentine's week. The campaign was designed to provide added exposure to the 300 approved dealers, raise awareness of EVA amongst consumers and promote 'Charge Confidence', a message coined to foster positive discussions relating to electric vehicles.

Visiting an EVA accredited dealer, consumers can be assured that they will be looked after by retailers with the highest level of expertise in both electric vehicle sales and aftersales.

The EVA standards ensure that consumers will experience a welcoming atmosphere built around the EV culture, impartial advice on switching to an electric vehicle, exceptional levels of product knowledge, EV trained and accredited technicians, on-site chargers, EV courtesy cars and more.

Following on from the success of the scheme, EVA has also announced the launch of a new "Aftersales Pilot Group". The Aftersales standards reflect the traditional EVA ones, although they have been adapted to suit businesses who solely repair and service EVs.

Sue Robinson, National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) chief executive, commented: "Retailers play a vital role in driving motorists to embrace low and zero emission vehicles. As the number of EVs on the road continues to increase, EV repairers will also need to be recognised and we are delighted to further expand the EVA scheme into aftersales.

"Congratulations to all the retailers who have achieved their EVA accreditation. Communicating expertise through the EVA badge reassures customers and boosts their confidence.

"We look forward to extending our collaboration with the Government's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and Energy Saving Trust, allowing EVA to continue to help electrifying transport".
