Member – M.Inst.A.E.A.

  • Has had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment - could include an apprenticeship.
  • Has passed the Institute's Practical Examination within the last four years or hold a current ATA VDA certificate - see Bridging Exam.
  • Is currently employed as an engineer assessor in a vehicle damage assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims.
  • Should be able to provide a comprehensive education/relevant training record.
  • Has passed at least four sections of the IAEA written examinations.

Associate – A.Inst.A.E.A.

  • Is currently employed as an engineer assessor in a vehicle damage assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims.
  • Has had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment which could include an apprenticeship.
  • Has passed the Institute's Oral Examination.
  • Has passed the Institute's Practical Examination within the last four years or holds a current ATA VDA certificate - see Bridging exam.

Honorary Fellow – Hon.F.Inst.A.E.A.

The distinction of Honorary Fellowship is conferred by resolution of an IAEA General Meeting upon persons not being members of the Institute, who have rendered special service to the Institute and agree to become Honorary Fellows of the Institute.

Fellow – F.Inst.A.E.A.

A Corporate Member (full Member), who has rendered special services to the Institute may be elected to Fellowship by resolution of an IAEA General Meeting.

Affiliate

  • A person that has satisfied the Membership Committee that they meet the necessary educational and employment requirements to join the IAEA.
  • The grade of Affiliate is the entry level to the IAEA, this grade does not convey or confirm any form of qualification or level of competency.
  • The grade of Affiliate does not provide the holder with any post nominals that can be referenced in reports or on company stationery/websites. This also includes reference to the term 'Member' or use of the Institute's logo on any stationery/website

Any incorrect use of post nominals may result in a breach of the IAEA code of conduct.
