Membership Grades

Member – M.Inst.A.E.A.

• Has had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment this could include an apprenticeship.
• Has followed and passed the Institute's education and satisfied the requirements to upgrade to Member at that time.
• Is currently employed as an engineer assessor in a vehicle damage assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims.
• Should be able to provide a comprehensive education/relevant training record.

Associate – A.Inst.A.E.A.

• Is currently employed as an engineer assessor in a vehicle damage assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims.
• Has had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment which could include an apprenticeship.
• Has followed and passed the Institute's education and satisfied the requirements to upgrade to Associate at that time.
• Should be able to provide a comprehensive education/relevant training record.

Honorary Fellow – Hon.F.Inst.A.E.A.

The distinction of Honorary Fellowship is conferred by resolution of an IAEA General Meeting upon persons not being members of the Institute, who have rendered special service to the Institute and agree to become Honorary Fellows of the Institute.

Fellow – F.Inst.A.E.A.

A Corporate Member (full Member), who has rendered special services to the Institute may be elected to Fellowship by resolution of an IAEA General Meeting.

Affiliate

• Shall be persons who satisfy the Membership Committee that they meet the educational and employment requirements that the Council shall from time to time determine.
• The grade of Affiliate is the entry level to the IAEA, this grade does not convey or confirm any form of qualification or level of competency.
• The grade of Affiliate does not provide the holder with any post nominals that can be referenced in reports or on company stationery/websites. This also includes reference to the term 'Member' or use of the Institute's logo on any stationery/website

Any incorrect use of post nominals may result in a breach of the IAEA code of conduct.
