British automotive design and manufacturing specialist rebrands as Tecniq

The company is a leader in automotive design and technology-led manufacturing solutions and is a key supplier to some of the world's most famous vehicle manufacturers.

Based in Essex, UK, the business was established by leading automotive design engineer Nigel Lempriere in 1999. Together with manufacturing specialist and co-owner Tony Smith, the business has grown to provide best-in-class design, engineering, and manufacturing solutions.

Over the past two decades as ADP Special Products, the company has partnered a variety of automotive OEMs and low volume manufacturers, as well as driving conceptual projects using the latest technologies and processes. Each process and project is completed with a focus on design-led, high-end precision in parallel to championing true artisan craftsmanship and skilled labour. Additionally, through its award-winning Classic Racing division, the group specialises in the restoration, maintenance, and competition support for prestige classic and historic vehicles.

Chief executive officer and founder Nigel Lempriere and chief operating officer Tony Smith continue to lead the business, supported by the appointment of two senior industry figures to the board. Former Deloitte vice-chairman Mike Dobby assumes the role of chairman, while industry-leading marketing practitioner and former McLaren director John Allert joins as non-executive director.

Chief Executive Officer and founder, Nigel Lempriere, explained: "The launch of the Tecniq brand marks a significant milestone in the timeline for the business as we look to take the next big step. We have worked to support our clients below the radar for many years, while our skillset and capabilities have continued to grow and strengthen, enabling us to offer a comprehensive and extensive service to the automotive industry. Our full 'cradle-to-grave' programme means we can design, engineer and manufacture everything in-house, and mitigate against production and logistical delays, as well as ensure efficiencies throughout the process. Now, as Tecniq, we are shifting up a gear as we work more closely with major OEMs and low volume manufacturers.

"The appointment of Mike and John is a clear sign of intent as we look to continue to build the business and its industry standing as well as expand our operations. Mike is a hugely experienced and respected industry leader, and John is a highly regarded, senior marketeer and business advisor. These two leading industry names bring valuable insights into the automotive sector and the wider industry, complementing Tony and myself and helping us pursue the exciting plans we have to further develop the business."

Commenting on his appointment, Mike Dobby, chairman, added: "I am excited to join a rapidly growing and ambitious business that has clear strategic priorities in place. Nigel and Tony have established a strong business model, just waiting to move to the next level, and I look forward to working with the leadership team to help the business fully realise its bold ambitions as Tecniq."
