BVRLA Senior Policy Advisor Thomas McLennan response to statement by Jesse Norman MP The Financial Secretary to the Treasury (issued 12 November 2020)
"We welcome HM Treasury's confirmation that motorhomes will continue to be classed as Private/Light Goods for Vehicle Excise Duty purposes and are supportive of the Government's decision to scrap its plans to introduce a new graduated VED scheme from April 2021, which would have placed additional burdens on businesses already facing a great number of challenges.
"The decision to extend the temporary increase of the Annual Investment Allowance by a further year is also good news. It is a welcome incentive to encourage firms to make investments in plant and machinery, including vans and lorries, which they might not have made."
