Anyone who has trained at Thatcham over the last 40 years will have met, or recognise Andy's smiling face - a much-loved figure at Thatcham Research who has held several roles from being a mechanic, team instructor and a senior technical trainer.
We are sure the industry will want to join us in wishing a very happy retirement to Andy Hutchins following over 40 years of service at Thatcham Research.
He is well-known across the Thatcham for being a highly knowledgeable colleague who always sets high professional standards from himself and others.
Speaking on his retirement, Andy said: "Working at Thatcham Research for over 40 years has been a huge honour for me and is an achievement I'm proud of.
"I came to Thatcham Research in 1979 fresh out of an apprenticeship knowing very little about the world. But the organisation has helped me grow, learn new skills and even travel the world, visiting countries such as Trinidad and Tobago, South Korea and Malaysia.
"One of my proudest achievements during my time at Thatcham Research has been being involved in the journey and development of the Automotive Academy. Being able to train so many in the repair industry has been extremely rewarding for me."
"I retire with a heavy heart, but feel privileged to have spent my working career at this fantastic organisation.I'm proud of what I've achieved and know I've made memories and friends for life."
