With its 1.73 million square meters HQ, Texa produce all of their own diagnostic products for private and light vehicles, motorcycles, heavy goods vehicles, agricultural plant and marine. Texa currently supply to manufacturers including Mercedes, BMW, Ducati, Piaggio, DAF, MAN, Renault and more, as well as air conditioning diagnosis, de-gas and re-gas equipment to vehicle repair shops and aftermarket workshops. The presentation provided interesting details of their software and training updates as well as their Bi-gas air condition equipment, i.e. R134a and the new R1234yf along with the list of vehicles currently equipped with R1234yf A/C.Of particular interest to the members were the on-board diagnostic log diagnostic plugs. These units can be plugged into the vehicle’s OBD plug where 90 hours of live diagnosis takes place, recording any live faults which can be later uploaded. Such equipment will be particularly useful where intermittent problems are reported whilst the vehicle is in service, either after mechanical or body repairs.Lastly, members were shown a video presentation of their new augmented reality glasses. Currently working alongside BMW on the project these glasses – worn by a technician receive three dimensional information giving step-by-step instruction on a repair process to the vehicle. These glasses may seem like something out of an Ian Fleming novel but we are told that they may be in use in the workshop within four years.Dave Gordon kindly provided a list of vehicles currently equipped with R1234yf A/C systems which as follows may be of use to Engineers/Asessors.Darren MorganVeicoli con R1234yfALFA ROMEO 4C LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER BMW I3 MASERATI QUATTROPORTECHEVROLET MALIBU MAZDA CX-5CHEVROLET TRAX/TRAKER MITSUBISHI SPACE STARCITROËN C4 PICASSO NISSAN QASHQAICITROËN C-ELYSEE NISSAN NOTEFERRARI LAFERRARI OPEL CASCADAHYUNDAI i30 (GD) OPEL MOKKAHYUNDAI I10 PEUGEOT 301HYUNDAI SANTA FE (DM) PEUGEOT 308 INFINITY Q50 RENAULT ZOEKIA CEE’D SUBARU XVKIA CARENS/ROMBO SUBARU IMPREZAKIA SORRENTO SUBARU FORRESTERKIA OPTIMA SUZUKI SX4 S-CROSS
