The Vella Group is marking National Apprenticeship Week by inviting its current apprentices to share their own success stories
The group employs 35 multi-skill accident repair apprentices and has a long history of apprenticeship success, with executive chairman Karl Vella awarded and MBE for services to training and apprenticeships.
As well as its ready to graduate apprentices, The Vella Group recently employed over 20 new apprentices who are now six months into their roles.
Peter Farnworth, technical trainer, said: "There is a skill shortage in the industry, and that's why we've gone to the route of training and retaining our own apprentices. We've got a diverse range of young people, ranging from 16 to 28-year-olds, both male and female, which adds new skills to our workforce.
"A huge part of the industry's development includes digital and technological expansion, and our young people tend to be more digitally-savvy and able to teach our more experienced members of staff how to incorporate these into their current practices."
